He has TONS of resources online and does his research. Hey! So I'll always have a huge space in my heart for Mike Matthews and everything he touches because his work is so well written, easy to follow and he's so freaking hot.
#The year one challenge thinner leaner stronger phase 2 free#
I know several others on the sub are doing it too, so feel free to chime in with your results! So I hope this was useful for anyone curious about the program. Unfortunately no progress pics because I failed to take any at the beginning. For some reason, I find this one really easy to stick with and haven't gotten bored of the workouts at all. I've tried other programs in the past (Strong Lifts, PHUL, etc) but would always fizzle out a few weeks in. Overall, I'm really enjoying the program. I always skip the calves exercises because mine are already huge and I don't do the abs circuits nearly enough (I'm going to improve on that in the second phase!). I'm going to use the second phase to really dial in my diet and see how that goes.Īll my lifts have increased and I've been feeling really good physically. I also had 5 days of eating and drinking myself silly while on vacation, so I' pretty pleased with the 7lbs of weight loss. I have a cheat meal (pizza, beer, and cake!) once a week, and overall wasn't super strict with my calories. I aimed for 115g of protein a day, which is lower than suggested, but the best I can do for now.
I do the 5 a week plan and I tried to eat 1300 calories per day, but probably ended up closer to 1450 (which is what the nutritional plan suggests). Hey, I thought I'd share my results/thoughts from the first 8 weeks of the TSL program in case anyone was thinking about trying it out.īF% (caliper): 32.1 -> 28.2 (I know calipers aren't super accurate and my bf% is surely way higher than that)
